Pseudo Slang X Trucker Stroe (06/2011)
Pseudo Slang is originally from Buffalo New York and now based in Chicago Illinois linking the talents of an amazing collective of Producers and Dj’s, but of course the voice of Pseudo Slang, Emcee Sick at the forefront with the one and only Dj Form!
The first contact between Sick and Uncle Corn (ThinkLoud) came about when Corn recorded an interview with Sick for his radio show on Soulsender. They kept in touch and only a few weeks later they organized a European tour for Pseudo Slang. That was back in 2009. Since then Pseudo Slang toured two more times overseas and always made a stop at Trucker Stroe’s studio in Berlin. As the main producer and one of the founders of ThinkLoud, Stroe already worked with artist from overseas like Aloe Blacc, Grant Agent, Kev Brown and Oddisee. This 7" presents two songs of the recording sessions of Pseudo Slang and Trucker Stroe and provides an insight to their collaboration.
Pseudo Slang ist eine aus Buffalo New York stammende HipHop Gruppe, die mehrere talentierte DJs und Produzenten eint. Der Großteil der Crew lebt heute in Chicago und öffentlich repräsentiert wird die Gruppe vor allem durch Frontmann Emcee Sick & DJ Form.
Über ihr Release „We’ll Keep Looking“, das 2009 auf Fat Beats veröffentlicht wurde, kamen Sick und ThinkLoud-Mitbegründer Uncle Corn in Kontakt und nahmen eine Sendung für Corns Radiosendung bei Soulsender auf. Seit dem blieben die Beiden in Kontakt und noch im selben Jahr organisierten sie zusammen eine Europatour für Pseudo Slang. Seit dem tourten die Jungs zwei weitere Male durch Europa, wobei man jeweils auch einen Halt in Berlin bei Trucker Stroe machte, dem Hausproduzenten von ThinkLoud, der unter anderem mit Künstlern aus Übersee, wie Aloe Blacc, Grant Agent, Kev Brown oder Oddisee gearbeitet hat. Zwei der dort aufgenommen Stücke sind nun auf dieser 7-inch zu hören, die einen ersten Einblick in ihrer Zusammenarbeit geben.
